We’re Whats Down (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect on whatsdown.in, why, and what your choices are. Short version: we collect what we need to take your order, get it to your door and keep in touch if you ask us to. And we don’t sell your data. Last updated: 19 August 2026.
What we collect
- Order details: name, delivery address, phone number, email, what you bought and how much you paid.
- Payment: handled by Razorpay. We receive a payment reference and status. Never your full card number, CVV or UPI PIN.
- Account details (if you create one): login email, saved addresses and order history.
- Messages: anything you send through the contact form, email or WhatsApp, including your name, email and phone.
- Newsletter: your email, if you subscribe.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser type and pages viewed, collected through cookies and analytics to keep the site working and understand what people like.
How we use it
- To process and deliver your order, send confirmations and tracking updates (email/SMS/WhatsApp).
- To answer your questions and handle damaged/wrong-item reports.
- To prevent fraud and keep the Store secure (e.g. rate-limiting, payment checks).
- To send offers and new-print news. Only if you opted in; every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To improve the Site and our products using aggregated analytics.
- To meet legal obligations (tax, accounting, consumer law).
Who we share it with
Only the partners needed to run the Store: our payment gateway (Razorpay), courier/logistics partners (name, address, phone for delivery), our email/SMS providers, hosting and analytics providers, and authorities where the law requires. Each partner only gets what they need. We never sell or rent your personal data.
Cookies
We use essential cookies (cart, checkout, login) and analytics cookies to understand site usage. You can block cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout need the essential ones to work.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires (typically 8 years). Account data is kept while your account is active. Newsletter data until you unsubscribe. Contact messages for up to 2 years.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent for marketing, or raise a concern, by emailing support@whatsdown.in. We’ll respond within 30 days. We process data in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as applicable.
Security
The Site runs over HTTPS, payments are tokenised by Razorpay, and access to order data is limited to the people who need it to pack and ship. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
The Store is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
We’ll update this page if our practices change; the date at the top tells you when.
