Why Inner Elastic Boxers Are Better Than Drawstring Boxers

Inner elastic drawstring boxers. A quick, honest guide from Whats Down.

Drawstrings look functional. In practice they’re the single most annoying part of a pair of boxers. They come untied, they knot, they get lost in the waistband after one wash, and they bulk up under trousers.

What an inner elastic does instead

The elastic is stitched inside a fabric casing, so from the outside your boxers look like neat woven shorts. Inside, it holds at a constant tension. No adjusting, no untying, no drawstring digging into your stomach when you sit down.

Fit without fuss

Inner elastic stretches with you through the day. After lunch, on the sofa, on a bike. And snaps back. Paired with a relaxed leg and a single back pocket, it’s why people wear our boxers out of the house without thinking twice.

The one thing to get right

Size. Elastic forgives a couple of inches but it can’t fix a size that’s two off. Use the size guide and you’ll never touch the waistband again.

Every pair on the men’s and women’s racks has an inner elastic waistband and no drawstrings. Comfy, quirky, cool: and no knots.

Good to know

Fit: The cut is relaxed: a roomy leg that ends above mid-thigh, enough rise to sit where boxers should, and no fly. Which means no gaping when you wear them as shorts and one less seam interrupting the print. True to size under trousers, one up for lounging.

Sizing: Sizes run S to XL with a waist chart in inches and centimetres on every product page. Measure where your boxers will sit, just below the navel, and land in the middle of a range. Between sizes? Go one up if you mostly lounge and sleep in them, true to size for wearing under jeans.

Women’s rack: The women’s rack is cut for women, not scaled down from men’s: a slightly higher rise, a shorter leg and a waist that stays put. Black & White Roses, Maroon Umbrella, Vertical Boho, Spot the Panda, Snakes & Lads and White Nautical, in S–XL.
