Wash printed boxers: a quick, honest guide from Whats Down.
Good boxers should outlast the joke printed on them. A few habits keep 100% cotton poplin and a digital print looking new for years.
Wash cold, with similar colours
Cold or 30°C is enough for cotton. Hot water is what fades prints and shrinks fibres. Keep bright prints with darks, whites with whites.
Turn them inside out
Protects the print from rubbing against zips and buttons. Takes two seconds.
Skip bleach and harsh detergent
A normal mild detergent is fine. Bleach will dull any print, digital or not.
Line dry, don’t tumble
Tumble heat is the enemy of elastic. Hang them in shade. Cotton poplin dries fast anyway.
Hand wash works too
All our boxers and masks are hand and machine washable. A quick soak and rinse is plenty.
Do this and you won’t need our 1-year colour guarantee. But it’s there.
Good to know
Fit: The cut is relaxed: a roomy leg that ends above mid-thigh, enough rise to sit where boxers should, and no fly. Which means no gaping when you wear them as shorts and one less seam interrupting the print. True to size under trousers, one up for lounging.
Sizing: Sizes run S to XL with a waist chart in inches and centimetres on every product page. Measure where your boxers will sit, just below the navel, and land in the middle of a range. Between sizes? Go one up if you mostly lounge and sleep in them, true to size for wearing under jeans.
Women’s rack: The women’s rack is cut for women, not scaled down from men’s: a slightly higher rise, a shorter leg and a waist that stays put. Black & White Roses, Maroon Umbrella, Vertical Boho, Spot the Panda, Snakes & Lads and White Nautical, in S–XL.
