Somewhere around fourteen, briefs get vetoed and boxers become non-negotiable. What to buy so they get worn and don’t fall apart.
Cotton, always
Teenagers run hot. Breathable cotton poplin beats polyester for sleep and school.
Inner elastic
Sits flat under uniform trousers and doesn’t show at the waistband.
Sizing that grows
Buy to the chart, not to “he’ll grow into it”. The elastic already gives a couple of inches.
A print they picked
Gaming icons, galaxies, lemons. If they chose it, they’ll wear it. Let them browse the men’s rack.
Care
Cold wash, line dry. Digitally printed, so the print survives teenage laundry habits.
Good to know
Brand: Whats Down is a contemporary innerwear and lifestyle apparel brand with one idea: underwear isn’t a hidden necessity, it’s a fashion statement. Comfy, quirky, cool: bold prints out front, premium cotton underneath, inclusive sizing, and ethical making in India.
Pocket: One back pocket, men’s and women’s, on every print. It’s for the phone when you step onto the balcony, the keys when you run to the shop, the room key on holiday. The small reason people stop changing out of their boxers to leave the house.
Returns: Because these are innerwear, all sales are final. No returns, exchanges or refunds. That’s exactly why the size guide is on every page. If something arrives damaged or it isn’t what you ordered, email us within 48 hours with a photo and we’ll sort it out.
Monsoon: Humidity is the enemy in July. Woven cotton releases moisture fast and dries under a fan overnight; knitted cotton soaks it up and stays damp. Darker, busier prints are the monsoon’s friend. Splashes disappear into navy, maroon and multicolour.
Quick answers
Are these underwear or shorts?
Both. The inner elastic, back pocket and woven cotton poplin mean they pass as shorts out of the house; the relaxed cut means they sit flat under trousers.
What sizes do you make?
S to XL, with a waist chart in inches and centimetres on each product page. Go one up if you’re between sizes and mostly lounge.
